Dolphin is a newly formed investment partnership based in Deddington, Oxfordshire, founded in 2023 by Richard Cook and Kit Tuke.

Richard is a serial builder. As both an executive and, latterly, a hands-on investor, he has helped mould and scale several market-leading UK brands.
‍
A marketing graduate, Richard has a track record of creating value in leisure, hospitality, travel, and real estate. He has a relentless focus on talent, seeing it as the key ingredient to commercial success.
When it comes to investing, Richard thrives when working with energetic, highly-motivated founders and management teams. He has experienced the ‘growing pains’ when scaling a business first-hand and believes that intellectual capital, in such circumstances, can be just as impactful as financial.

Richard is passionate about motorsport and regularly competes in historic championships throughout Europe. He is also a recent convert to padel tennis; he and Kit play every week.

Kit began life as a banker before moving to private equity in 2006, first at Candover/Arle and then Bridgepoint.  He co-founded Dolphin with Richard in 2023.

Being in charge of Candover's debt portfolio through the financial crisis taught him financial restructuring skills, the power of new capital and emotional resilience. He was a founding member of Arle, the vehicle set up to manage and monetize Candover's investments, before moving to Bridgepoint in 2015. There, he worked on buyouts in Business Services, Consumer/Leisure, Housebuilding, Industrials, Tech, and Healthcare, and sat on boards of two companies.  He also ran a program trading portfolio companies' debt during market dislocations.

Kit met Richard on a due diligence trip to a Spanish theme park where they realised that work could also be enjoyable - the premise on which they set up Dolphin.

Kit loves aerobic exercise and has retired from marathons in favour of road biking, hill walking and ski touring races. In his prime, he was a fast 800m runner and an energetic footballer.

A foreign languages graduate with a background in teaching and translation, Donatella has been working with Richard for the past 3 yrs. She moved from Italy to the UK almost fifteen years ago and began a career in supporting high level executives in private holding companies.

With experience in real estate, investment portfolios  and private asset management, Donatella loves working with entrepreneurs who believe they have a role to play in making a difference and bring their experience to new and existing businesses.

When she is not busy managing extensive diaries or assisting with the set up of a new business she can be found practicing Barre, visiting photography exhibitions or planning her next trip to Japan
